RAIN Smart Front Yard ​Makeovers

Through its RAIN Smart Neighbourhoods project, REEP Green Solutions provides support to homeowners towards beautifying their properties with landscapes that manage rain, reducing flood risk from storms, and working together to green their streets.  Three homeowners won RAIN Smart Front Yard Makeovers, which will serve as demonstration projects showcasing features such as rain gardens, infiltration galleries, and naturalized landscapes.

Rustic Potager

A young family outgrows their backyard and dedicates their front yard to food and flower production; this design pairs layout and design elements borrowed from traditional French kitchen gardens with rustic elements in keeping with the character of the family and local materials...there's chickens too!

Thistledown Farm

A derelict farmhouse reimagined;  original back of house redesigned as the front, featuring grand views over the Blueridge Mountains, a rustic entry porch, outdoor dining room, and native plantings.
